WILLPOWER = Stun track, drain/fading resist, spell defense sometimes and gets added to full matrix defense actions. Never used for defensive tests, but it's a mainstay of GMs trying to get you to roll 'kicking down doors', 'tossing dwarves' and such-like. Doesn't govern much and is basically just a damage value for melee and unarmed. Most characters can leave this lower than intuition and raise it with karma later, if they think their initiative rolls are a bit poor. It's useful, but intuition is tons better. Riggers need it mostly, but everybody rolls it on physical defense tests. REACTION = It governs piloting skills, but that's the only time you ever use it seperately from intuition. never tank this attribute, except maybe if you're a rigger. It governs no important skills at all, unless your campaign is heavy on parachuting. It's your physical track, overflow and spell defense roll sometimes. The following list is a rough guide to who uses what.īODY = Everybody. Set your primary attributes as high as possible. You get cash in-game, and you don't need the best of everything right out of the gate.Īs high as you can. If you're anything else, then basically set this to D or E. If you're a decker or rigger then it's probably a lot. The reason I suggest this is it lets you tank attributes a bit on the priority list.Ĭhoose the amount of cash you NEED for the character, and no more. Strongly consider an elf for the extra +3 attributes at creation (3 CHA, 2 AGI), and they have no real downsides outside of RP. Don't be afraid to play a human, they're often best at most things. Heavily affects your starting attributes, lifestyle costs, passive abilities and special attribute points. Edge is very useful, but the merits of an edge build or partial-edge build are probably lost on new players. If you want to play a mundane, set M/R to E, then all your special attribute points will end up in edge.

You don't always want this column to be an A, and if you are happy to drop it a bit then you can use special attribute points from your metatype selection to get your m/r rating up a bit. If you choose magic or resonance, it's likely to be your primary character mechanic and must be chosen well. (Note, this is assignment order, not ranked by importance to the character)
